THE SHAPE OF STARS

Allow 20-40 minutes preparation time

This session invites us to explore why many of us are voiceless when a microphone is in front of us or when we are invited to speak up or take action. It also invites us to reflect what we do that may diminish the voice of others.   It invites us to collectively consider the impact on Good Shepherd Mission globally if our voice is not raised or recognised and understanding my responsibility in contributing to this voice.

Reflection Questions & Journalling

What holds me back from contributing to the Asia Pacific Voice? What actions of mine diminish the contribution of others to the Asia Pacific voice?

  • Consider or reflect on when you were a child. What gender, patriarchal or authoritive socialising stories were reinforced for you? How has it shaped you as an adult?

  • What do you feel are blind spots, which make you slip into accepting and/or contributing to acts of authority, patriarchy, gender bias or control?

  • How do these blind spots impact or shape how you participate as an individual and as a part of the collective Good Shepherd community?

  • How can you address this?
